About me
Hi, I'm Kirsty! I set-up Ume Wellbeing four years ago to provide one-to-one mental health support to children, young people and their families. I work privately and mainly within a home setting (and virtually!) to help families learn more about their child or young person's behaviour and provide strategies to help them navigate through the daily challenges of life.
Over the last fifteen years, I've been working with children and young people with various mental health and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I hold a degree in Creative Expressive Therapy, I'm a qualified Mental Health First Aider, and have a professional certificate in Sensory Integration.
I'm also a certified Thrive Practitioner, meaning I can provide families and professionals with a clear, systematic approach to identifying their child or young person's social and emotional needs and explain what their behaviours are communicating.
I then work with the family to establish strategies and activities to support their child or young person's wellbeing and track their progress over time.

Social and emotional support
I support mental health self-management through specialist training in neuroscience, child development and the Thrive approach.

I have used Kirsty’s service since Autumn 2018 for my son. Thoroughly professional at all times, Kirsty is also kind and gentle in her methods, and inspires confidence in the client as well as the parent. Don’t hesitate - if you have someone at home who is struggling, Kirsty is the professional you want.
